We know a lot of you have been hearing the whispers and speculating about the fate of MagicBand+ on the West Coast. Let’s break down what's fact and what's fiction! First, a quick reality check: MagicBand+ has officially been at Disneyland since late 2022. Curbing Abuse: Disney leadership, including new CEO Josh D’Amaro, reiterated that the 2024 overhaul was necessary because the program's usage had tripled since 2019, largely due to "overuse and misuse" that was making the virtual lines unmanageable. Expert Backing: D’Amaro noted that the current rules are the result of extensive collaboration with medical professionals to ensure support is "thoughtfully matched" to individual needs rather than being a one-size-fits-all "front-of-the-line" pass. Resource Management: The board argued (and shareholders agreed) that an independent review would be a waste of resources, as Disney is already constantly "tweaking" the program based on guest feedback and legal standards. #disney #DAS #disneyland #disabilityaccessservices
